THE EASY WAY TO TRANSFER WINDOW ATTRIBUTES IN ARCHICAD

So you have one window and you would like to put in another window with the same case material, same cell. Wouldn’t it be great if you could just pick up the window attributes and click it with the syringe? You can’t. the window just doesn’t transfer that way.

LET'S LOOK ON HOW TO TRANSFER WINDOW ATTRIBUTES IN ARCHICAD.

Here you have your first window and your second window.

Let’s pick the attributes with the pickup tool, hold down Alt on a PC and click on the window who attributes you like to transfer. In this case the window on the left. If you open the window tool now, you can see it has picked up all the attributes of my window on the left.

When you close the window now and try to transfer the attributes to my new window on the right by holding down Ctrl/Alt on a PC and click with the mouse ( syringe icon should be visible ) on the new window, nothing happens. This is quite frustrating as transferring attributes works just fine with any other tool .

THE EASY SOLUTION TO CREATE THE SAME ATTRIBUTES IN ARCHICAD

Let's delete the window on the right

After you picked up the attributes from the window in the wall, what you have to do is, open the window tool again

Then choose the window type you are after from one of the folders: IMPORANT !! do NOT click on the window you are after yet.

After you have selected the folder/window type, hold down Ctrl/Alt on a PC ( syringe icon should be visible ) and move your ARCHICAD mouse cursor over the window you want to choose click on the window. The attributes transfer immediately!

Window attributes transferred ! Including window size, sill height , materials, etc.
